Clipping a rose
"Jesus is like a gardener. Your daughter was a rose on a bush and Jesus came and clipped her, not because He wanted to destroy the bush but because He wanted something beautiful, maybe he wanted something that smells good. We don't know what He wanted. We don't know why.
Faith is a mystery. Life is a mystery. God is a mystery. But what you do know is that you love God's will and you love your daughter. The rest is a mystery. ... But you love God's will and you love your daughter."
A priest told me this when he came to the hospital to perform a baptism of desire for baby Sloane.
I took a walk in a rose garden this evening. I felt her there. I await the day when "feeling her" brings joy and hope, not just sorrow.
I do love God's will. I'm trying to love God's will.
(Lord, I beleive. Help my unbelief.)
