The Instagram/Facebook post below was shared with hundreds of people. In 2-3 days, we raised $5,000 to cover all of Sloane’s funeral costs, including shipping on a donated casket from Trappist Caskets, funeral outfits for our children, and any other costs associated with our loss and my health issues. The messages I received contained so many personal stories of loss and healing. Total strangers joined our friends and family with their prayers and care. We had sitters for a few weeks to give my husband and I alone time to process. We had dinner meals for a month. This care will forever be a reminder of what God wants for those who suffer and what he expects from those who can help.
The post:
We have spent two days trying to find affordable options for burying our baby. We want to give her the respect she deserves and allow our children and ourselves some closure. We found a Catholic mortuary and cemetery that gives a discount for people in our situation. We are so grateful to them. Many of you have been asking how to help us in this time. Of course, prayers are most necessary, but if you have the means, please consider helping us bury our daughter. If you do not have the means, please consider sharing our GoFundMe with your friends.
Thank you to the hundreds of friends and strangers who have prayed for us. We have seen many blessings in this, one of them being my own recovery. Even the doctor was worried that I wasn't going to make it. God bless you all!
