Sr. Pauline LaPlante diary - 1907

 This is the unedited account of the third apparition to Adele, during which Our Lady spoke. Adele had just received advice from her confessor on how to address “the white lady.”

When they came near the place Adele’s heart beat fast for through the trees she could see the beautiful Lady all clothed in white, purer than snow, with a yellow sash around her waist and her dress fell in folds so that she could barely see her feet; she had a crown of stars around her head and her long wavey golden hair fell loosely over her shoulders and such a heavenly light shone around her that Adele could hardly look at her sweet face. Adele was not frightened this time but was filled with joy and peace. As soon as she got near enough she knelt and spoke as the father had bid her.

“In God’s name who are you and what do you desire of me?”

Our Blessed Mother answered, “I am the Queen of Heaven who prays for the conversion of Sinners and I wish you to do the same.”

She continued and said, “You were at Holy Communion this morning?”

“Yes, dear Lady. “It’s well or good, but I wish you to do more, Pray for nine days, go and make a general confession and offer your Holy Communion for the conversion of sinners, if they do not convert themselves and do penance my Son will be obliged to punish them.”

In the meanwhile her companions were so anxious to know who she was speaking to “Who is it Adele, is it a poor soul from Belgium or who is it?” Adele told them to kneel that she said she was the Queen of Heaven. One of the Ladies commenced to cry and lament saying, “O! Why are we so unhappy as not to see her as you do.” Our Blessed Mother turned and looked so kindly at the Lady and said, “Blessed are they that believe and do not see.” Then turning to Adele She said “What are you doing here in idleness while all your companions are working in the Vineyard of my Son. Adele answered weeping, “What more can I do dear Lady?” “Teach the children” “How can I teach? I that know so little.” “I do not mean the science of the world; teach them their catechism that they may know and love my Son otherwise the people here will loose their faith.”

Adele answered, “With God’s grace and the help of your intercession I promis dear Lady to be faithful to what you bid me.”

Then our dear mother raised her eyes and hands heavenward and slowly raised up surrounded by a gentle smoke like incence; the last of what Adele saw her as if she was asking a blessing on those that were at her feet. Adele saw nothing more but fell on her face in faint- Her companions tried to ****** and bring her to the man went to a little creek to wet a cloth and brought some water to revive her; as soon as she came to herself they walked on home and rested at the first house they came to. The people were astonished at the news. Most of them believed it but there were some that thought she was out of her mind but it was not long before Adee, faithful to her promimsed commenced to gather the children and instructed them the best way she know how and she contiued doing so for seven until a good father gave her the idea of building a place for the children so that they could come to her instead of her going to seek them…
